Booka B - Sun Is Shining [Digital 12"]

The big brother, Booka B hit me up for mix consultation and mastering of this, bangin digital 12" release, Sun Is Shining.  The release is a remix of Bob Marley's classic, blessed with a verse from Toki Wright (Rhymesayers) along with a B Side featuring, Jahdan Blakkamoore on a cut called, “The General” a Booka B, Dub Remix.  Booka B has released a handful of remixes this summer (most of which I've mastered), this one is the brightest of them all.  

By the way, mista Booka is no stranger to the game.  He's just been layin in the cut.  Back in 2005, he released, Basementality - a 17 track instrumental record boasting features, Slug of Atmosphere (Rhymesayers), Carnage - whom he accompanied on Sense of Sound (2008), and Eyedea (Rhymesayers).  This is a rare one for most heads, but you can get it online at his bandcamp site.

Illuminous 3 - Thrift Stores & L's

In December, the homies Illuminous 3 hit me up for mastering of their EP, Thrift Stores & L's.  Full of South Side pride and heavy in the spirit of Minneapolis rap, this eight joint piece is arguably their best work.  So, a serious nod is due, for the EP is largely produced by Ill 3's own Mavin MC aka Craftmaster Raf.  The other half of the record hosts a joint from Noam The Drummer, a heater from King Karnov on the anthem, "Midtown Livin", and two deep cuts from the mysterious and lately absent, Sevadar Sehaj.  This remains their latest work to date, but as of January they've introduced a monthly release featuring local producers respectively named, "Illuminous Free".

Toki Wright - BlackMale

Its been a few months since the release, but I want to let folks know about some of the work I've done beyond my own record.

In the months I was preparing for the release of my debut album, New Love; I worked with Rhymesayers Entertainment's rising star, Toki Wright as engineer on his latest effort - BlackMale. The eight track digital release features production from Twin Cities' mainstays like Benzilla, PC, Reggie Reg, and yours truly. Word on the street - there are a couple videos for tracks off the EP soon to drop. Propers due to Toki, as he has recently been added to the MTV & MTV-U video rotation with his video for the track "More Fiya" off his debut album, A Different Mirror (Rhymesayers Ent., 2009).
